Chris G of chrisg.com offers an excellent free eBook called “Killer Flagship Content”. The title sounded intriguing so I downloaded it and read it. He compares content to anchor stores in a mall. You have the key anchors, but then you invariably also visit the smaller stores. This is analogous to key content, and the ancillary content on your blog.
Here are some key points he mentions:
- Users want good references, so become a go-to resource
- Flagship content is stuff you are proud to tell people about and draws visitors like a magnet
Chris also relates how search engine performance can be increased with Flagship Content. Referring back to your content in future posts promotes the post in search engines and the anchor content is more likely to be linked to by others.
The eBook is an excellent read for any blogger. If you wish to take your blog from interesting to must-have bookmark, you need to read this eBook. I won’t disclose more, but it gives ideas for Flagship content, why it is so important, critical success factors, how to promote it, and how it can be a key part of your blogging repertoire.
I give it 5 stars.
Visit Chris G’s website and download the free eBook. You will need to subscribe to his feed and within your feed, you’ll find a link to download the eBook.
