“UAE beats American’s environmental harm”

No this is not a commentary on muslims, or the Middle East, or any other divisionist concept you can think of. This is to point out once again what’s possible with insane amounts of petro dollars. Anything’s possible when you have an oil spigot in your land and to point out what happens when convenience rules over intelligent choices.
Let the roads to ruin begin!
“The average person in the Emirates puts more demand on the global ecosystem than any other, giving the country the world’s largest per-capita “ecological footprint,” WWF data shows. The United States runs second… But the oil-rich Emirates is considered a developing country, and even as a signatory to the United Nations’ Kyoto protocol on global warming, is not required to cut emissions. The United States is no longer bound by Kyoto, which the Bush administration rejected after taking office in 2001.” Full article here
Well there’s their excuse. They are still developing. America, well Bush doesn’t like Gore. Maybe he saw “An Inconvenient Truth” and decided to give it a D- in his My Yahoo! Movies page. “He mentioned Ke-oh-tee. I say the hell with Ke-oh-tee, chee-oh-tees, and any other tees for that matter.”
Developed nations are supposed to be mature, setting an example for the rest of the world. As the #1 nation in the world what do we stand for? What do you stand for?
Oh and the picture is of an artificial ski slope not a super gun. With all this crazy shit, you wonder why the U.S. hasn’t attacked them yet. Seems like we should attack some cool place like Dubai. At least our troops would be like “Damn this is the coolest place ever. All this cool shit and oil? Yeah let’s do this.” instead of wondering “why the f*#% are we here again?”
Dubai seems like a fantasy land to me. I think I want to go, but I almost suspect I’ll run into Michael Jackson there. Man would that ruin it.
